LAST UPDATED May 22, 2021

FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORS

In order to hold an event to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the first settlers to our community, many people and organizations have and continue to contribute their time and money toward our celebrations.  Without the funding from all levels of government and corporate sponsors, we would not be able to hold the type of celebration we envision.   The following sections of this page outline upcoming fundraising events, a list of sponsors that have contributed funding or in-kind contributions towards our upcoming celebration, and information on fundraising activities completed thus far.

Upcoming Fundraising Activities

Our current fundraising activities include the following:

- the on-going sale of our Kemptville bicentennial commemorative items.  See our Merchandise page to view the items being sold in support of our 200th birthday and to place your order.  If you do not wish to or cannot order on-line, contact Jeannie Mood at 902-761-2700. (NO LONGER AVAILABLE)

- the sale of TICKETS for the catered meal at the main celebration on August 1, 2020 (CANCELLED) began in early December 2019.  Also, the sale of KBS 2020 COMEMMORATIVE CALENDARS began about the same time.   Thanks to our many supporters and a great job by the calendar committee our 2020 calendars are SOLD OUT!  Sales of tickets are progressing well and over 190 have been sold so far.

Thank You!!

A huge thank-you to the corporate sponsors who have made contributions toward our 200th anniversary celebrations.  Your assistance is instrumental in helping us achieve our celebration goal.

We owe a sincere debt of gratitude to the many volunteers and supporters within and outside our community who have given their time and money to support this cele- bration of a major milestone in our community's history.  Last, but not least the contributions of the residents of Kemptville cannot be overlooked.  Their support is a necessary component in order for this celebration to be a success!

Fundraising to Date

Fundraising activities commenced in April 2019 with a Mother's Day Tea held at the Victory Baptist Church vestry.  Tickets sold for the tea, sale of aprons with the bicentennial logo, made and donated by Jeannie Mood, and general donations contributed to funds raised from this event.

A Bake Sale in May 2019 raised funds from the sale of baked goods and crafts, along with some  donations.

The sale of crafts at the Community Yard Sale in August 2019 added greatly to our fundraising efforts.

A KBS Fall Fair was held in September 2019. It was a great success and funds were raised from the sale of our commemorative items, tickets for games, baked goods, food and crafts.  As usual there were some donations.

An Unbaked Apple Pie sale took place October 5, 2020.  The pies were assembled at the Kemptville fire hall and distributed.  Ingredients were donated.  Funds were raised from the sale of pies and from donations.

On October 26, 2019, a night of music provided by local musicians and singers was held at the Kemptville fire hall following a Kemptville District Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary Turkey Supper.  Funds were raised by audience donations, the sale of raffle tickets and the sale of KBS merchandise (t-shirts, hats and decals).

A second Bake Sale fundraiser was held at the Yarmouth Mall on Saturday, November 5, 2019.  Funds were raised from the sale of baked goods, crafts, raffle tickets, KBS merchandise (t-shirts and hats) and donations.

A Bake Sale was held at the Yarmouth Mall on Friday, February 7, 2020.  Due to the hard work of our volunteers and generosity of Kemptville's residents once again we had a great assortment of baking to offer for sale.  In spite of the poor weather the sale was very successful.  Thank you to all who came and purchased items at the sale.  As before we had baked goods, crafts, raffle tickets and KBS merchandise for sale.  Also there was some money raised from donations.  Thank you to all!

A sale of raffle tickets was held at the Yarmouth Mall on March 7th.  Diligence by our volunteers did not pay off as well as hoped but the proceeds were greatly appreciated.
